Why are most barber shops, hair salons closed on Monday?

For as long as you can probably remember, salons and barbers have been closed on Monday.

It's amazing, especially in the east, older states, they still keep these stupid blue laws on the books. Virginia wouldn't let you buy paper on Sunday cause that means you're doing work. On the other hand you could buy a good old Virginia ham and get that woman in the kitchen working to cook that ham. They did get rid of most of the laws even before I left though.
