I was sure he'd stick around for at least one more year and enjoy taking the field as the reigning champs.

If the fire isn't burning anymore, it's got to be tough to put yourself through that kind of beating every week.

I never believe any vets that retire right before minicamps are set to start. The thought of two-a-days in 90* heat makes even the toughest guy cry. A lot of them decide to un-retire 2 months later when the worst is over and they can waltz through the last couple of weeks of practice.

Bill Romanowski described the physical demands of football as being in 10+ head on car crashs every sunday.

If you've read his book, you KNEW this was coming. This Super Bowl win pretty much sealed the deal for him. Congrats to him.

Goodbye. Sad to see him go.
Great player.

I'm sure we'll be seeing him on TV in the near future.

In Plax's defense, he is vastly underpaid for the top 10 receiver that he is. It's not like he's sitting out of training camp. These are off season OTA's. I'm not worried. I'm sure the Giants will use the $6 million they offered Strahan to keep Osi and Plax happy, and perhaps lay the groundwork for a long term deal with Snee (also deserved, and he will be a FA next year).

I heard a rumor that Big Mike has a deal all set with Fox that would have him co-hosting the Best Damn Sports Show Period on FSN, and making weekly contributions to the Sunday shows. I could certainly see this happening, as he has done both in the past. He will be a welcome sight (much moreso than Tiki) on the airwaves.

The only consolation I found in the Giants winning the Super Bowl last season was that at least Strahan got what he deserved. I thought he seemed like a pretty good guy from all his interviews over the years.

Aside from secretly videotaping his wife's sister undressing, I'm sure he's a swell guy;)

I'll say, Tiki is about as interesting as a 2x4 and he smiles too much. At least Strahan has some personality.
