I had signed up for this last year and it worked great, as I received virtually no telemarketer calls. However, recently, I've been receiving quite a number of calls from them. My aunt said she heard on the news that the Registry listing was lost on 9/11. Has anyone else in NY who signed up for this been receiving a lot of telemarketer calls lately?

That sounds to me like a convienent excuse. The companies that call you should have had that list in their own internal database, that would be periodically updated by syncing to one in the WTC. Who knows though, so maybe you ought to just try adding yourself to the list again

I signed up for the registry a while ago also... and I've been rid of telemarketers for a while now... still.

When telemarketers call me I like to put them on hold. And check back every 10 min or so to make sure they're still there and put them back on hold again...

I haven't been getting more calls since 9/11. That list was a great idea, probably one of the few good things Pataki has done for NY.
