NY Department of Environmental Protection/Police

so i've recently passed the written for the NY DEP (which is supposedly related to the NYPD) position. i have been called in for the initial physical "test" and was told to wear sweat pants and a long sleeve T-Shirt.

Does anyone know what this "test" consists of?

our tests that we do (Cal/EPA) is a full end physical every year that includes blood, urine, stool, a 20 minute automated hike up a treadmill that simulates climbing with a 30lb gear bag up hill. They check our breathing capacity and stuff.

THen there is reflex and other stuff. I guess thats what you are up for.

was that your INITIAL physical activity that you've done even before getting the job? i haven't done anything besides passing the FIRST WRITTEN TEST + the initial medical for the department ...

When I applied for the NYPD, the first real test was a 2 mile run in 20 minutes or so (I believe. It was a long time ago.) If you couldn't pass this, you were immediately dismissed.

okay so i took the same agility test today as the rest of NYPD (i'm with DEP.)
the test consisted of 6 stations in this order
1. getting over a 6 foot fence
2. running up and down 8-10 steps (3x)
3. pulling a rope with 80lbs of force and stiffing in a semi-circle 4x. pushing the same machine with 80lbs of force and stiffing in a semi-circle 4x.
4. running 200 yards (600feet) around cones triangle configuration.
5. dragging a 176lb manaquine on a grippy surface 35 feet
6. pulling trigger of pistol 16x with strong hand + 15x with weak hand (other hand across chest)

total time it took me to do all this was about 2:45-3:00 mins
the cut time was 4:28 or something like that.

stool sample seems invasive to me. fill up on corn the day before to get even.
