Im going up to New York this weekend to see all the beautiful lights, tree and to walk around. Never really been up there. What is there to do. Im taking the train from Philly. I was either going to go up Friday after work or Saturday. Is it worth staying overnight?

Well What are good RESTAURANTS!! maybe say $150 for 2 people. Give or take. I saw Mesa grill that bobbty fuay owns

UPDATE: So far we have
Le Cirque
City Hall
Tavern on the Green
Little italy places
Chinatown

I would love to spend $200 total and get wine and all

Do all the touristy stuff -- Times Square, Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, Broadway, Central Park, Ground Zero, etc.

I was there early November of this year for 3 days and it wasn't enough to see everything! I definitely want to go back. In the meantime, I remind myself of my trip with my photos 🙂

Sorry, I can't give you any food/restaurant ideas as I spent a LOT for food when I was there. To give you an idea, our breakfast bill was $130 (for 5 people :Q)

Don't listen to RaDragon. I went and did the tourist sh!t last christmas, and it sucked major monkey testicle.

Ok thats for 5. Im talking about dinner for 2

What are you looking to spend on dinner? Touristy stuff is fun, but be aware it will be VERY crowded around Rockefeller Center and Fifth Avenue with all the holiday visitors and shoppers.

FOr real? It sucked ass???

I am not exactly a fan of tourist traps. We went through times square, down 5th ave in some of the famous stores, saw the tree, central park...bleh, its nothing special...waste of time & money in my opinion....there were also 5 million people trying to fight their way down every street...not exactly enjoyable IMO.

Depends what you feel like eating --

SoHo has a lot of good restaurants that are moderately priced. We ate at Café Rondure and they had an eclectic menu and great ambience. Occassionally, we'll have those hotdogs sold at street corners 🙂

Also try the Village (Greenich Village) -- they have cozy coffee houses and small restaurants.

Well lets put it this way. I was going to go to AC which I was taking around 500-600 with me. I think i want to go up to ny city though and check it out during the holiday. Ive been to every other city and know nothing of new york and needed to see whats going on up there so i can plan ahead accordingly

Ignore him. NYC rules.

Ignore HIM. You are already in the superior city.

Seriously, didn't you crap enough in the other NYC thread? We get it, you hate NY. What do you have against the OP visiting? If you aren't going to answer his questions just stop replying to this thread.

LOL. How old are you, 3?

ouch. You really struck home there, I'm crying on the inside, how about trying to refute my other points in the thread rather than dipping to personal insults? Oh right, because NYC sucks too much monkey testicle to be defended.

He's prolly still bitter 'cuz his mommy didn't get him what he wanted while visiting there.

FFactory0x -- who are you going with? Wife? Girlfriend? Roomie?

You'd be better served by searching for similar threads as this gets raised every year... multiple times. The benefit of doing that is - no thread crapping by Deeko (it wouldn't be the first time I called Deeko a 14 year old).

My opinion is that you should try everything once. Hype does nothing but fvck up your expectations. Just go with recommended areas of interest while ignoring all the "OMFG that place ruled" (or sucked) comments that go with them. Commonly mentioned places give you a clue as to what to look for.

What point? Aside from your limited knowledge of vocabulary? Stop crapping the man's thread and go back to your regular neffing.

FFactory0x -- Here's a site with suggestions on what to do in a day in NYC (sorry, it's an "About" website 😱) -- if you and your SO are into the theatre/musicals, I suggest watching "Movin' Out" (if she's into Billy Joel and dancing); You can get discounted tickets @ TKS in the "middle" of Times Square.
