hi there! i need a 12.5 ft Component cable to connect an HD cable box to an HDTV set. i can very easily find cables of 25 ft online, but they are twice the length i need. luckily, i've found this 13.1 ft NXG Basix cable at RadioShack. i'm wondering if anyone has had experience with such brand/model....

thanks in advance.

do you need the audio leads too? it sounds like it's a no name brand. But then 20 bux is not excessively expensive. 12 foot is a standard length so 12.5 is hard to find.

@ sdifox: yes, i need the audio cables.

@ adul: i have always got my cables from Monoprice, but i need 12.5 ft this time. and the 25ft they sell will result in unecessary degradation of signal. that's the dilemma that is leading me to RadioShack....

My brother uses the RCA version of those cables. No problems. Just "riced out" cables for OK prices. No problems like i have had with monster (ripped out the ports from my preamp!)

Nope, but I'd recommend monoprice as a preferred source as well though.

Monoprice sells 12ft cables. You're saying you can't move things 6 inches closer?

Since you have waited 4 days, you should have gone with the monoprice for cheaper and tried moving things 6" closer lol.

I would only buy from RS or BB if I needed the item immediately.

i havent waited 4 days.... i dont need the cable right now. i will need it in 20-40 days.

regarding the 6in, no. i cant move anything. :-( if i could run the cable in a straight line from the box to the TV, even 6ft would be enough. however, i'm being forced to go behind the furniture and along the walls. if moving stuff around were an acceptable option, i wouldnt have hesitated as i'm a Monoprice fan, myself.

Signal degradation of a 25FT cable is not going to be all that extreme for what you are up to.

Truthfully I think a 25FT high quality RG6 cable would actually result in less degradation than a 13.1FT questionable quality cable especially at higher component frequencies.
