NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer

What character did you play/beat the expansion as? I stopped playing because of the spirit hunger meter but I am re-playing it now that I know how to turn the meter off with the console. I would appreciate advice on what a good (alignment) melee build might be. Thank you.

I haven't gotten to the expansion yet, but I'm playing through the original with a Red Wizard Evoker. Nuke nuke nuke nuke nuke hahaha. The guys I'm co-oping the campaign with are doing Sacred Fist and Stormlord or whatever it is.

I am thinking a pure caster isn't for me. I don't know what spells to use on the fodder and what to keep for big fights. I am more of a melee guy. Anybody have some good melee builds? I like to be of good alignment.

IMO, sorcerer (when spells are picked properly) is a stronger class than a wizard.

Yeah, I had a sorc/pale master before, but straight wizards get more spells, so I can go from straight damage to prot with just a rest.

Nice, do you find it easy enough to play as a pure wizard or do you get killed alot? Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, even with shield I'm always the first one to die. Defensive casting doesn't do what it's supposed to :frown:

I always play as a ranger, sometimes with some rogue levels sprinkled in to add in some diplomacy skills.

Yeah I usually play a rapier wielding thief, but I decided to change it up a bit. I actually made a straight ranger, but really didn't like it, so I made the evoker instead.

I like melee characters myself. I played as a Fighter/Barbarian (with prestige classes)

Yeah one of my friend's alts is a barb/monk sacred fist fighter. He punches like mad.

Still trying to figure out if I'm willing to buy this.

The next official patch should be out next week or the week after, I would pick it up then if you are a fan of cRPGs. It has improved a great deal since launch and even then the game itself was fun, save for the bugs (which are no longer a problem).

Well I picked up NWN2 in the first couple weeks of release, played the OC, enjoyed myself, haven't been back much since.

The ending was quite a bit of a letdown.

I'll probably wait for a price drop then snag a copy.

The game and expansion are each $20.

I prefer an arcane caster class (for NWN 1 expansions was a mage + arcane archer). However, based on posts about the lack of survivability for casters I played NWN 2 as a paladin and am playing MotB as a figther/red dragon disciple.

I'm not sure I picked the most enjoyable class for it, but it's been fun and the hunger is an interesting challenge since (spoiler) ...

(spoilers) the friendly ghost badger only gives you +7 while resting costs -15, and my Concentration skill is too low to use the don't-feed feats in combat 🙁 .

that is the way i alway play it 😛
- are you masochistic also
😀

i got MotB for $8 last week at Curseit City ... 🙂
- is it fully patched yet? ... is it safe yet to play?

8 bucks is a sweet deal. It's been rigorously patched as I found out this afternoon. Give it a blast, and let me know what you play as.

i got 11 new games within the last 30 days for less than $10 each from GoGamer and CC ... MotB is on the short list

😛

too damn much choice now
😕

and i will play mostly as a Ranger with some Rogue characteristics
... continuing my NWN2 character - in spirit, at least

Havent beat the expansion yet.

Beat the main game with a human cleric (fire/healing) and am now on the expansion with an orc barbarian.
Loads of fun so far.

really? Guessing this is dead?

How would NWN2 run on a 8800gt at 1280x1024? Are there still many bugs left in this game? If it's $20 I was thinking of buying it along with Shivering Isles.
