NVSilencer 5 is noisey

I have an NVSilencer5 on my 7800GT and sometimes it makes a rattling sound, but nothing is actually rattling. The sound stops when I stop the fan with my finger. Is there anything I can do to remedy this? Thanks!

Edit: my solution was to just buy a new cooler Zalman VF-900.

Purpose of posting this? You could have bought a replacement fan from eBay (there's an Arctic Cooling store that was posted in this forum).

If Arctic Cooling offers a warranty on their products and your product was under warranty, why would you spend $50 on a new heatsink and then post about it?

Because IMO this HSF is junk If I have to buy a replacement fan for it, it is only a matter of time before the replacement acts up right? I'd rather just buy a whole new setup.

If you believe this HSF is junk, why buy it in the first place? There's a 6 year warranty on the thing...I don't know why you would waste a warranty and buy a Zalman instead.

According to Arctic-Cooling, the warranty is 6 years. There is still 5 years left on that warranty to cover any malfunctional issues with the cooler.

If the fan dies on your VF900, what will you do then?

I have tried brushing my teeth, gargling some mouthwash, and short of chugging some draino, I have not found a way to remove the awful taste left in my mouth by your poor decision. For shame, arcenite, FOR SHAME!

If op wants to waste money, he can. OP: Nice secondary choice, but the NV Silencer isnt junk.
