Hello,

I would like to add more storage to my system and have some questions. For start I want to mention my motherboard that is a Asus Maximus VII Formula.

I want to go somewhere between Intel 750, Kingston Hyperx Predator PCIE or Samsung 950PRO.

Atm. I have one video card that sits on the 16x lane PCIE first one and do not plan on having SLI or more than opne video card. Can I put two 240GB Predator on the motherboard and make raid 0 using the motherboard raid configuration ?
And second, will the video card still run on 16x ? I also have a sound card that is on a 1x port.

I have seen that the NVMe 750 has or had some speed issues during boot time.Dunno if the problems have been solved or not.

If you put a 750 or the 950 pro in the second 16x slot down from your video card it will go to 8x so will your video card, I don't think you'll lose much performance with your video card going to gen 3 8x pci-e...I have the same MB, you see the layout in your manual, I have a GTX 980 Ti and I'm going with a 950 Pro also!

Raid 0 of PCIE SSDs is just not worth it. There are going to be fringe cases where you could use the huge transfer speeds raiding a pair of 750s would give you, but I'll assume you're not going after that because of the amount of storage space you're interested in.

Get a single 500GB version of the model you're interested in and save yourself the headache of raiding them. Each PCIe SSD will consume 4 PCIe lanes, so your videocard will run at 8x once you install the PCIe SSD into your system.
