Question NVMe HDD coming??

I think there are two primary motivations behind this effort. First, making it easy to standardize on NVMe over Fabrics without having to keep around stuff like iSCSI or use a NVMeoF to SCSI/ATA translation layer. Second, eliminating the need for complicated and expensive tri-mode HBAs in favor of simple and slightly less expensive PCIe switches.

Hard drives don't need to switch to NVMe. But it will be a bit easier for host systems if they only need to support NVMe and not other storage protocols.
