Can you give a little bit more information about your system? What type of A/C Unit, I assume it doesn't control heating, since you mentioned a furnace. Is it single zone? Does one unit control multiple zones? From what I can muster together, it could be that the fact that "there is no pressure," assuming you mean static pressure, means that the fan in the unit can't overcome the pressure in the duct to push air to your storage room, causing the relative humidity to build up, creating the psychrometric chart nightmare, causing an overwhelming amount of condensation. If that's the case, you need a new unit. But I don't have all the facts I need to discern a correct hypothesis.

I used to be an a/c man. Here is your problem: First, your a/c hasnt crapped out, but if your brother has to put freon in it periodically, you either have a leak somewhere in the systems coils, or you have a leak at one of the many soldered joints. Anyway, what you have inside your house is mold buildup. If you can open up the side of the unit where the filter is, you will see some hideous orange/pinkish crap blocking your drain up. Do me a favor: TURN OFF THE POWER BEFORE DOING THIS!!!!!!!! Clean out the inside by the coil, or at least try to get most of the gunk out. Then what you can do is get a 50/50 mix of water and bleach and dump it in the pan. This will clear out the mold and keep it clear for a while. Mold loves a dark damp place like the evaporator coil of an a/c.

Peace
