Not only does it lose in idle/load power consumption compared to the l55nm 4350, but it is also slower.

64-bit memory bandwidth? WTF! I can't believe they are calling it GT series with 16 shader cores. Not even enough for PhysX.

It's not meant for gaming, why would they need PhysX?

The power consumption figures are quite interesting though. That seems to indicate that nVidia's architecture simply doesn't scale down well.

seriously? you're saying "wtf" over 1.5 watts at idle, 4.2 watts at idle? at this price point, i'm going for gaming at minimum settings (ugh, never again) but most likely, just being able to RENDER an image at said specifications (dx10/10.1) but not at realtime. seriously, someone at this price point is going to either choose ATI or NVIDIA, either due to brand loyalty/past performance ...or not really care what they're going to get.

those watts aren't going to matter until the government is counting every watt we waste and at that point will be harassing me and my distributed computing setup opposed to joe blow's gt210 and their GPU's power usage...

no one at the sub $50 price point is trying to run any new games. it's basically if you need a display and don't have an IGP.

The 4350 is the superior card because it is cheaper, uses less power, has a passive cooler, and performs better in D3D.

Umm, it's not a "GT" card - name is GeForce 210 if you read the article. Budget part...

No, I did not mean to game on this card with PhysX, but to be able to use a cheap low power consuming card like this as a 2nd card in the 4x PCIe slot for PysX. I believe NV recommends at least 32 cores.

oh darn, my mind is playing tricks with my eyes. They took out the T

I still think when NV had such an opportunity to create a 9800GT/8800GT killer at 40nm for $50-65, they didn't! This card is probably not going to be $20.

Frame buffer? Nowhere is the article does it mention the amount of dedicated vRAM.

Ah, on the GPU-z image it shows 512MB DDR2 (499MHz, 64bit).

Addenum: Model Name G210 = GPU Code GT218

Looks like something I would get for a server downstairs. Except it has non passive cooling. I grabbed a 7200gs 2 months ago to replace a 6600gt that had a dying whining fan. I grabbed it for 20 bucks and because it had passive cooling.

Guess we know why these cards were OEM only for so long... Horrible price/performance for a retail card, even if its a value item.

NV need to bring out something impressive really fast, so i can either buy a cheaper 5850 / 5870 or the NV alternative, to replace my struggling 9600GT :)

finally NV is moving to dx10.1 + 40nm. but the price is nothing good. a friend got a hd4850 months back for $65AR, I think the gt210/220s are selling for higher than this. from the benchmarks it seems to be like 1/2 the performance of hd4850s at about same price. on egg you can get a non rebated hd4850 for like 85. not sure who will like this card but at this price, i'd get better even 8800gt beats it.

Anything even closely associated to the moniker "GT200" should not be this sad. Methins NV is putting all their eggs in the GPGPU business, and slowly exiting the "enthusiat gaming" segment.
