If you're referring to the loading pauses and transitions, I don't think that's a vendor-specific issue.

FEAR 2 PC Demo thread on AT

You'll find users of both mention the pauses, I noticed them as well but they're not as bad as people make out. Seems like level loading/transitions to me, which would be sped up by a faster storage subsystem and/or more RAM. Or perhaps Monolith fixed it in the gold version.
