Somebody help me, how do I resist the second card!?!

I mean, it wouldn't even be for me...

*goes to tirerack.com to buy tires that are more important than video card in hopes CC balance will be scary enough to prevent this expidenture... :(

Is it raining? No I don't think so. Slicks work great on dry pavement..high traction and high G's! Get another GTX.:D

Videopho after reading fine print, it says:

Only valid on purchases made at:
GlobalComputer.com, TigerDirect.com

And we all know how Tiger Direct rebates go by now.. so $259 it is still.

I would imagine so. If NV wants retailers and partners to liquidate G71 stock, the GX2 would definitely have to go. Any GX2's remaining in retail a month after G80 launches will most likley just collect dust.

drool.... quad SLI..../drool haha

Awesome. I just gotta make sure I can get my grubby hands on the second one before they become extinct!

But for everyones sake, lets hope this first generation of new DX10 cards arent the power hungry monsters we've been hearing about!

:p

Neon has P185/65/R14's :D

And I bought her some $38 tires, Kumho's that got some awesome reviews. No need for insurance either.

Darn TD and their rebates... I already have one rebate item at home that I haven't sent in, so I can't buy a second one. It's a good rule of thumb for me.

My mwave 7900GTO should be in my hands tomorrow night!!!

Even if the price is "sweet", I wouldn't recommend quad-SLI... It gets beaten by GTX SLI more often then not, and I don't expect the Quad-SLI drivers to get any better due to the fact that G80 is going to be hot and most likely it won't be possible to sandwich two of these together for an 8800GX2. I imagine that Quad-SLI may only make another appearance with either the G80 refresh or the next gen when they've had time to make the DX10 cores run cooler. I could be wrong about this, but I thought about this for quite a bit before my last purchase, and well, you can see what I came up with. If Quad-SLI scaled the way they should it would be a no brainer, but for some reason it doesn't. On the otherhand, a single GX2 isn't a bad card by any means, but I would still think that either dual 7950GT's or 7900GTO's would be a better bet overall.

Interfaced multiple graphical hardware products, nearly doubling vision system throughput

Can I use "educational expense" as my excuse, when my wife beats me down for my order?

yeah its just someone said it was $300 for the 256mb x1900xt when you can get the 512 for that easily.

i have an nvidia card, but lets at least be objective. i mean , i refuse to buy an ati card because i have a big investment in intel stock, but i'm going to at least be objective about it and not try to "tilt" the numbers at all. let the cards compete on merit.

the x1900xt 512mb is still probably a better card than the 7900gto if they are both $300. but since some 7900gto is $230 now (tiger direct after rebate anyway) its probably something to consider compared to the 256mb x1900xt.

TG just changed it to $259 , literally right before my eyes, saw $249 then reloaded page and it was $259:(

I grabbed one at $249. BTW the rebate is explicitly good for two cards.

Sadly it doesn't work that way. I've driven on bald tires in the past with my Mustang GT that I had. Every bump, crack or bit of debris on the road becomes your nemesis. Turning corners became interesting because of Botts dots.

Of course some of that was entertaining... until that time I hit the guard rail.

Good lord you change hardware like i change my socks.

You've had what, four mobos, in the past month?

/wishes he was rich :p

And now SLI GTOs :Q

Not really (read below), I normally touch it once a year. But with the Conroe release, I was looking for the holy grail, so I tried 4 mobos: 2x Gigabyte, 1x Abit and Asus P5B.
I returned the P5B due to the power on/off cycles (as you can guess), I kept the Gigabytes and recently got the ABIT.

I will try the GTO's on my system as SLI, after having some fun the second one goes to my 2nd rig - yes, I'm crazzy to replace the X1900XT, but it's cheaper and quieter.....

I'm selling one of the Gigabytes (the DQ6), one E6300, the 7950GX2 and the X1900XT.
There will be money left to pay for the GTO's, the Max and the E6600.

For me it's easy to sell over Ebay, I normally get good money back. ;)

RIP Mustang GT? :(

I actually drive a Mustang GT... weird. I also ruined (wore the shoulders off prematurely) a perfectly good tire by letting it run low for too long :|

That's what I get for always being in a hurry... Just realized that yesterday. I think that I am going to get a pair of Conti's to replace the BFG Traction T/A's, and hopefully sell/trade in the one tire that has ~20k on it.

Anyway, did anyone get their cards yet? Somebody must have paid for over-night...

I'm glad I can't justify a $250 expense to myself, or else I would already be all over this :)

"In other words, with 1.1ns chips and similar, you aren't really "overclocking" the memory you are still within the range they officially support. With slower chips like 1.4ns you ARE taking a chance since the memory doesn't support those kinda speeds. "

I just read over eVGA forum site, Jacob, eVGA's tech support who confirms 1.1 ns memory.
BTW
I wanted to know which overclocking method is more effective from one another, core or memory or a combination of both in order to achieve the card's "sweet" optimal spot?
Anyone?

Wow, great find! So it's even faster than the 1.2ns states on eVGA's site. G80 or not, buying a 7900GTX for these prices at this point in time is nuts.

RIP Mustang GT?

Nah, just a tiny dent on the side and a scrape on the front (plus an earlier front scrape from another guardrail). Really minor.

That's pretty f'ing sweet, I agree. Now I can't wait to get home :) Out for delivery, baby! Hopefully they put the box in a plastic bag, as it is supposed to rain today long before I will get home...

Good to hear. A Mustang isn't the nicest car ever, but at least they are fun to drive :)

Take memory to the GTX spec (800MHz). I had my GTX SLI @700/900 (Core/Mem), which I thought to be a sweet spot. Past that spot (or even prior to that point), it's usually memory overclock that's more beneficial. But memory > 900MHz is hard.

Does anyone know if Windows XP is going to make me reactivate when I swap my graphics card? I just recently upgraded my 7800GT to 7900GT and Windows told me to reactivate because of the video card swap.

If you did re-activate then, and you have not made any other changes, this graphics card change will not require re-activation.

i got mine today from ZZF. The box is a GTX box with stickers that say GTO laid over the GTX in some places, (some places you can still see GTX).
