Damn, has everyone else seen NVidia's Dawn demo, or at least the stills from it?

Looks a lot better than most CG movies that I've seen, including all the ones from pixar.

While the GeforceFX looks like an overpriced dustbuster to me, I am eagerly looking forward to some new cards from nvidia that will hopefully be able to produce this kind of detail without requiring 2 slots and a fan that sounds like a jet engine.

That said, did anyone scan the 2 page shot of dawn from the latest computer gaming world, or know anywhere else I can get it? 🙂

Alas, no as it makes quite heavy use of DX9 pixel and vertex shaders...

There was a big thread in Video about this...... lemme tell you, its true... and, frighteningly realistic.

BTW, you CAN run the DAWN demo on your GF4 or GF3, using the latest drivers and the "emulator" put out by nVidia (the emulation is actually built in to all the drivers past 40.72's, the "emulator" just enables it)... runs at like <2 fps though.
 
remember when det drivers first came out for geforce 2 cards? and we were like WTF!!! my card's now insane!!!....hopefully same will happen w/ the FX card....i mean, geezes, much faster and better RAM...u'd expect something better by a large margin..but nop...marginally beats the 9700, and loses horribly to the 9800.....

Well at least nvidia has a head start on the 0.13 micron and the newer techs and stuff...fx is mainly a tech demonstrator and test bed IMO :beer::camera::sun:

it actually has less memory bandwidth than the 9700 pro...
