Nvidia WDM drivers cause windows to crash with 4200Ti

Ive had a very nasty problem most of today.

I use the S-video in on my Leadtek GeForce 4 4200Ti to connect my PS2 (theres no room in my dorm for a proper TV). Anyway, ive had the "device cannot start" error with the video-in driver for quite a while, i didnt bother sorting it out because i knew i was going to put a clean install on soon.

I formatted my HD and put a clean install of XP on this morning. Everything installed fine, but as soon as i tried the WDM drivers, i restarted windows, it detected the new devices upon the next restart, but, every restart after that it crashes just before the "welcome" screen. Ive had to restore my last working configuration in order to get it to work (or just un-install the drivers in safe mode).

The annoying part is, that after the drivers are installed the first time, the video in works fine, but its after the restart it all goes to pot.

Ive tried all combinations of drivers from leadtek's graphics drivers and WDM drivers, and nvidia's own, but i get the same problem with every one.

Ive tried playing with various IRQ setups aswell but no luck.

Has anyone had this problem? Anyone have any idea how i might solve it?

Thanks

Andy

The drivers im refering to are the VIVO drivers for the ge-force cards.

By the way my system is:

ASUS P4PE
Pentium IV 2.53B (Northwood)
1GB OCZ PC3200 DDR RAM
Leadtek GeForce4 4200Ti with VIVO

Ive actually managed to get it working now, i installed the cinemaware drivers (18mb!) which seemed to get it to work, theyre older drivers but they seem to work anyway.
