Been out of the loop for a while and have a question. I have 2 computers, 1) 3500 winnie with a bfg 6800 ultra o/c 2) aopteron 175 with a evga 7800 gt ko. My son is wanting to put together a system and I suggested a 7900 gt co (price right now seems to be pretty decent). He asked me about the 7600 gs which I know very little about. I am currently looking over at firing squad and trying to get a handle on its performance in relationship to the 7900. Where would the 7600 gs line up insofar as performance? He knows what the 6800 and 7800 will do...will he be disappointed with resolution and frame rates with the 7600 gs. Gaming and video will be points of emphasis with this system.

going to a 7600GS would be a definate downgrade, even worse than your 6800U
