Hei guys, I need some help...
In your opinion, what video card is the best choice for a non-gaming usage but
high-quality video (frame rates, picture quality, etc.), mainly needed for video capture,
TV channels broadcasted over the internet, DVD reproduction ?

System:
Chaintech 7NJS Zenith Ultra mobo
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
Corsair xms DDR 2700, 333MHz, Dual channel

Price range: $170 - $250 ???

For quality video playback and watching tv on the internet, you really can't tell a difference between the current cards. For video capture, are you planning to do this with a tv tuner, or the video card. If it is the video card, then I guess the AIW ATI cards are your best bet. Even though you're not into gaming, I think the mid ranged AIW are so overpriced, they put AIW into the 9000pro and increase the price by $100, that sucks. The Nvidia cards around that price range has the VIVO functions which works almost the same. The MSI 5600 is probably the closest thing to the AIW, and you can get much better performance in games if you decide to play some.

You might consider getting a separate graphics card and video-in/TV card. That way you can swap either card out if you ever want to change or upgrade.
