nVidia Vanta drivers for Windows 98 (maybe SE?)

What are the latest drivers I can get for Windows 98 for the nVidia Vanta card. Also, if I have Windows 98SE do I still go for the Windows 98 drivers?

Your VGA card is so ancient, it's a joke, I suppose. I don't think that the Vanta was particularly good, either. If that Soyo has an AGP slot, you could probably find something 8-10 times better for $15-20. It would have to be a used item, because that PC probably predates AGP 2x, 4X, etc. The original three volt VGA cards haven't been made for five to seven or even eight years now, but there were a great many upward-downward auto-adjust cards sold the next couple of years after the 2X's came along.

Just thought I might add that, if you go to Guru3d they often have the latest or at least newer versions of drivers which are modified to allow installation on older and mobile cards.

But then that may be harder to find for you as your looking for win9x drivers.

It's not either of my computers. Its my friend's. Hes got an older computer that is a PIII system (650Mhz). After some problems with it and a reinstall we need to find the drivers for that old card. He's planning to get a new rig, but not everyone is made of money you know. he just needs the drivers so that he can get out of 640x480 256 color mode.

EDIT: How in the world would a 2.8Ghz 800FSB P4 be in a MOBO that doesn't have AGP?

Cheap Intel OEM mobos

no matter how chepa it is, an 800FSB mobo would always come with at least a 4x AGP slot.

NO IT WOULDNT. take a few minutes to do a little research. there were a few oem boards without agp. newegg even has 2 P4 boards 800fsb with NO agp or pcie16 slots.

wow i stand corrected. so you can get those. My Dell has 4x AGP. The SOYO has AGP 8x.

lol yea. My emachines mobo has no AGP slot. I think the mobo itself can run 800fsb P4s. Supports dual channel pc3200, sata, etc, etc has most modern features, but does NOT have agp. I can't imagine the OEMs save more than a few cents on each mobo this way, but i guess every cent counts. I know my friend's old emachines doesn't have an AGP slot either. Also, old dell 2350 doesn't have AGP.

last computer i had taht didnt have AGP was a Compaq presario that came out before AGP was available... it came w/ a Pentium 133MHz w/ 8Mb integrated Memory and when i finished w/ it it had a 266MHz MMX chip w/ 92Mb of ram at PC-66 and a Voodoo3.... man it was pimp... then i got my Duron700 system w/ a TNT2(2000) think about that... the TNT2 is newer than the VANTA.... you need to help you friend come into this millinia.....
