When Nvidia recently removed one reviewer from those who receive samples from them because he in their mind did not show enough appreciation to the features of their products, what does is indicate about other reviewers?

That they do appreciate the features of Nvidia products enough?

That reviewers must pass certain level of loyalty to the company to be "sample worthy"?

Can we even believe a word from mouths of these other "loyal reviewers"?

What this incident did to the media and their trustworthiness?

It indicates nvidia sends out a bullet point list it expects them to highlight.

Yes and no. A reviewer can follow the script and still provide accurate information in the benchmarks.

That reviewers must pass certain level of loyalty to the company to be "sample worthy"?
yes and no. If the reviewer is large enough they can give nvidia the middle finger and still get samples (look at LTT for ex).

It is the smaller reviewers that are hurt by this. People who do not have a million subs.

Can we even believe a word from mouths of these other "loyal reviewers"?
In this age of the internet, can we believe anything we see?

I think most of us believe Gamer's Nexus and LTT are somewhat reliable. At a certain point a presenters audience becomes more valuable to them then nvidia/amd/intel/etc. At that point said presenter likely is more trustworthy.

What this incident did to the media and their trustworthiness?
It showed us what we always knew.

Unless you paid a subscription for your media source, you are the product. If you are the product, they will never work in your interest. Never trust anything that is given to you for free. Know where your media sources get their money/resources. Patron supported media is the only way to go.

There's already a threat discussing this. I don't think we need a separate one for it. I'd suggest moving this conversation there.
