Nvidia to launch NV35 in mid-May

Therer are times you gotta "love" the Inq
THE GRAPHICS CHIP wars are about to hot up some more. According to DigiTimes, the Nvidia NV35 is going to launch at E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles next month.
E3 starts on 14 May so that gives only three weeks to wait. If the report is accurate. But then, if the report is accurate, the NV35 is only a slightly tweaked NV30. And you know that's not true if you read the INQUIRER regularly.

Before the graphics speed demons out there start slavering too much, remember that a launch is not the same as the product becoming available to the public. It's a fair guess that the report is right about the timing even if it manages to be completely off on most of the rest of it. E3 is the perfect time for a launch.

Many people claim to have seen the NV35 up and running already. It's certain that Nvidia has pulled out all of the stops to get NV35 to market so that it can reclaim the performance crown from ATI. Let's just hope that the QA process survives all this rushing to market. µ

Well, maybe not . . .

Best part about the inquirer is the links to good news sites 😀

I have no doubt NV35 will get the crown back for nVidia. If it doesn't, shame on them! And if NV35 doesn't best the higher-clocked, 256MB version of R350, shame on them as well. I certainly don't think NV35 will be 2x as fast as R350, especially when AF/FSAA are involved.
