I've got a new Radeon 9800 Pro being delivered today, and I'm replacing a Geforce Ti4200. I remember reading somewhere that leftovers from the nVidia drivers can cause problems with the Catalyst drivers, and that simply uninstalling the nVidia drivers isn't enough to get rid of them completely. Can someone tell me exactly what needs to be done in order to install the new card and drivers properly?

That's right. Left-over stuff from Nvidia drivers can cause problems. Get DriverCleaner and run it to remove the remnants of your old nvidia driver. Good Luck!
