Just want to check with you guys re the correct way this is done.

Remove nvidia drivers from system (from control panel)> remove 6800 gt and install x1950pro> put in the driver disk that came with the new card and install ati driver.

yes?

uninstall nvidia drivers from control panel, reboot into safe mode, run driver cleaner (make sure its installed first), shut down, install ati card, go into regular windows, install ati drivers.

should be fine.

All you need is add/remove programs to remove the old drivers. Also don't use the driver disk, get the latest drivers from ATi.

Driver Cleaner doesn't hurt and occasionally can be quite useful 😉

this one ok?

Yup, but when using DriverCleaner to remove nVidia Video drivers, be very careful not to uninstall your chipset drivers if your running an nVidia chipset.
