We have some performance numbers of the new Tegra 4(According to NVIDIA). If those are legit then it sure is very fast both in CPU and GPU.

You can compare the CPU and GPU performance against ARM and Intel ATOM in the links bellow taken from Apple iPad mini review here in Anandtech.

274FPS? That's twice as fast as the iPad 4. Dying to see how quick it will be in 3Dmark.

If history is any indication the fruit company one-ups Nvidia handily in the next iDevice.

Can you hear the sound of Intel execs not sleeping well at night?

So the most important question: battery life? That is by far one of the biggest metrics these days for ARM chips. Efficiency.

Yea performance numbers only do not give a full picture. If it only last an hour for that performance then it may not be very good.

The whole point of arm is long battery life with good enough performance.

x86 is catching up by reducing power consumption and ARM is catching up by increasing performance. I'd prefer if ARM/Tegra4 to emphasize more on power consumption. I could definitely use a few extra minutes of battery life. Performance is getting to a point of being good enough for the majority of mainstream consumers.

This is very true :) I see the the next iPad having a 4 core swift with a 6 series Power VR power house. The benefit the Tegra 4 will have, at least I hope it will have. Is this performance in a $200 tablet.
