nVidia Summary screen lists my new PCI-e 7800GT as "8X".

Just built the system yesterday using a new Epox EP-9NPA+ SLi M/B. I've checked the "Flipper" card on the m/b. I'm running the drivers that came with the XFX card which are version 77.77. Haven't downloaded new nVidia drivers yet because this PC only has a dial-up connection. Could the driver be the problem?

Doub't it is the driver, probably a setting in the motherboard BIOS. Doesn't make much of any difference either way though.

Try forcing off SLI in the BIOS. You're not using SLI right?

Don't see anything in the BIOS that might be the cause. I upgrading to nVidia driver 81.98, no change. Summary screen still shows, "BUS: PCI Express X8".

I'll check the BIOS again, and no, I'm using a single 7800GT card.
