Usually after a day or 2 of run time my sound drivers/card drop. I get this error if i run dxdiag sound test: DirectSound test results: Failure at step 3 (DirectSoundCreate): HRESULT = 0x88780078 (No driver)

If i go into winamp i can force the plugin to choose Direct sound and it will play fine. otherwise there is no sound on my machine. BEsides the general windows stuff. I tried the latest Nvidia board and sound drivers even the beta stuff. My comp specs are in my sig.

Really getting annoying to have to restart to play a game.

And if i do a scan for changes in device manager they aren't found/come back.

Wait, so is the soundcard dissapearing from device manager?

I'd probably start by disabling all the power saving stuff except for turning off the monitor.
