2080 at 1080 Ti level, so they had to have the 2080 Ti out already.

What?
FE vs FE:
2080 is 5-8% faster than 1080TI
2080Ti is 35% avg faster than 1080TI

lets see AIB vs AIB cards it will be less.1080Ti will have same performance as 2080 and 2080TI will be only 30% faster.

I think I may just keep my 980ti and upgrade my CPU/Mobo.

We're going to have to let the dust settle to get a clearer picture. Looks like giant leaps and some baby steps so far.

The 2080Ti is called the FE but it really isn't one anymore. It's built to be one of the best so I doubt the AIB versions of it will be much better.

How so? The 2080 is barely at the 1080 Ti level(~5% faster) while the 2080 Ti is only about 35% faster than the 1080 Ti. For context, for Maxwell the 970 was on par with the 780Ti and with Pascal, the 1080 was over 30% faster than the 980Ti. If Turing is an "incredible leap", then what were Maxwell and Pascal?

- $/performance is actually worse than pascal.
- Energy effiency is about 0-20% better depending on games (sweclockers test actually showed 2080 having worse effiency than 1080 ti).
- Performance/mm2 seems to be slightly worse too.
- 2 games showed pretty big improvements, Hellblade and wolfenstein 2.

A quick summary for everyone.

Hmmmm...right off the bat performance is great.
I think drivers will improve a lot, given the Turing architecture, and DLSS will improve performance, too.

Plus we had RTX running 4K at 100FPS in a couple examples.

Maxwell was a leap two ways, performance and efficiency.

Tech radar:

At Nvidia’s GeForce Gaming Celebration event at Gamescom 2018, we saw Nvidia RTX deliver much more realistic with different intensities everywhere depicted in a stony ruin in the rainforest. We also just gawked at the walls, looking them shimmer as light reflected and refracted off of them.

In terms of frame rate, an early build of Shadow of the Tomb Raider ran at a mostly consistent 40 to 50 fps, which is impressive giving the game is running on a single GPU – on top of all the new ray tracing techniques.

We also played Battlefield V and Metro: Exodus with Nvidia RTX turned on, and saw performance run in excess of 100 fps at 4K and Ultra settings. You can see our Battlefield V with Nvidia RTX gameplay above (we shared it with PC Gamer), which was captured through the Nvidia GeForce Experience app.

Surprisingly, to reach this level of performance, the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti actually draws less power than the Titan XP and 1080 Ti it outpaces. That said, this GPU does draw twice as much minimum power and gets hot quick, so be sure your PC is ready to exhaust all that heat before installing it.

That's patently wrong. Digital Foundry played a non-RTX build of Metro Exodus on a Ryzen 2700X and Titan Xp and performance was barely hitting 60FPS at 4K.

As expected, the 2080 is a lateral move from the 1080 Ti in traditional performance.

Wait..What?? Is this the only case the Vega 64 is around the same performance as the 1080/2080??
I am starting to think its not gonna be worth buying a 20xx unit now :(
I was thinking it was gonna be way better performance gains..
I'm not sue. I thought it was really funny seeing the Vega matching the 2080Ti in the chart.

It's way too early to get a clear picture of the actual performance and features yet. I wouldn't pass judgment on performance yet.

Did everyone only use 1080Ti FE for comparison? Did no one use a 1080 Ti AiB?
