btw, they rant on and on about how the chip claims to support athlon and DDR... at the same time as DDR2 and phenom... it probably does, that is because its the CHIPSET support list, not the MOBO support, a mobo is going to be one or the other... you COULD build a mobo with this chipset + DDR + socket A, you would not be able to put DDR2 in it, and vice versa, you could build a DDR2 mobo with it that will not hold DDR1.
I actually have an nforce 4 and nforce 5 (of the renamed 4 series) mobos with different cpu sockets, one of which has ddr, one ddr2, both use the same exact actual northbridge chip... And AFAIK the 6 and 7 and now 9 series are basically all renames of the 5 series (the upper end, the ones who weren't EXACT renames of the 4 series but add SLIGHT feature improvements.. and i do mean slight).
