Some people don't do beta, which is why I posted this. Sorry, if it's a re-post. I had not seen it posted yet. Also, I am running the 62.11's and you have to edit one of the files to enable DX9.0c compatabiltiy.

Woah slow down dude... i didn't mean anything... i said thx anyway though. Do you know which file you have to edit to gain support. I only have a 5900XT but still id like to edit that file just for the hell of it.

No offense intended or taken... :)

Instructions for enabling DX9.0c in beta ForceWare. - 4th post down. These instructions worked on my 62.11's.

I haven't compared them to the official drivers. nV was kinda slow on getting official drivers out for these cards, so I have been getting all my drivers from guru3d.com. No problems with them though.

Since I am new to the Nvidia drivers do you uninstall older versions before you install new ones? I currently have 61.76. My first full day as an Nvidia owner and I don't know the best way to change drivers!

The conventional wisdom on the board will tell you to uninstall and use driver cleaner. However, I have never done this except when I have downgraded or used beta drivers. For official drivers, I have always just installed them over the top of the old drivers with no problems.

Thanks, I will try that.

no its not enabled in them you must tweak the INF still.

Just add

[nv_SoftwareDeviceSettings]
HKR,, D3D_35173345, %REG_DWORD%, 0x61243847

[nv_ClearRegistrySwitches]
HKR,, D3D_35173345

To the nv4_disp.inf BEFORE installing.

I wonder if Crytek will now enable sm3.0 by default in whatever patch they come out with to replace 1.2?

This is odd. I haven't experienced this at all with DX9.0c and any of the following nVidia drivers 61.77, 62.11, and 62.20. There were some weird graphic anomolies with the beta 62.20's though.

Anyone else have any problems like jrphoenix?

I don't know why? I have a new system (just built my first rig :) ) I was at the fort level (at the top of the hill going up the elevator?).

Everything I tried just made my system crawl? Are you supposed to do some kind of DirectX cleaner or uninstall before installing the new 9.0c?

Maybe I'm just unlucky????

I take it the the 61.76 drivers did not have SM 3.0 enabled, and these do? "Out of the box" so to speak?
