Does it beat the 5770 thats ~100$?

Edit:
*hit the link you proviced.... looks like it ll be slower than a Geforce 430, going by its papir stats.

So yeah.... 5770 will be like ~300% (~3 times as fast), for the same price range?

This 520 is bound to sell cheaper than 100$... seem more like a 50-60$ card.

It is $60. But it doesn't even beat the three-generation old GT 220. As happy would say this is one sad turd.

Ouch... slower than the GT220... so... around 50$? I guess this goes into a HTPC?

*Edit Geforce 220 go for ~50$, this would have to beat it in watt used, or something for it to sell higher priced. Most people probably dont bother looking into things and just buy it anyways.

If your a gamer or hardcore gamer stay away from this.. thx

People who don't play games use integrated graphics solutions.

i wouldn't even say that... i wonder how this would even stack up to the intel IGP or AMD IGP

The 6450 looks better than this and $60 Hahahahhahahahahhaaa. Maybe $15 AR like the GT210 I bought.

Slower than a GT220? wow, talk about a step backwards. Intel and AMD's IGPs would make this card redundant.

I think sandy bridge graphic HD3000 is faster than this card. ^-^

So not sure if it makes much sense for people with a sandy bridge to buy it... which means Llano users wont need it either.

^But it's slower than the 220 too. Provided that the specs are accurate, which they probably are.

well the gt220 and gt520 should be close enough not to matter though since these are not really gaming cards anyway. plus the gt520 probably has better htpc features than the gt220.

EDIT: wow I just looked at the specs again and the gt520 is really butchered. it deserves to be called a g510 much more than a gt520. not that it really matters but even my old 8600gt would probably beat it in most gaming scenarios, lol.

The question is who buys's a geforce 520?

Most people that bought a discrete card probably already have GT220 or better performance level.

^ So, its probably going into newly buildt systems without graphics cards right?

Only theres a problem... Sandy Bridge graphics are faster, and so is the Llano (which are probably the most sold new pc buildt, when this card will be released or in its short term future).

I dont see this card selling very well... older htpcs? without graphics cards? or ones that had graphics card die on them and need a replacement?

Im guessing the GT520 has better support and features for the HTPC crowd although the HD6450 seems a little better in performance and price.

You sure this is faster than the IGP found on sandybridge? haven't kept up with IGP performance since looking at figures for Zotac 9300 itx (Ion) which is used for my HTPC.

Well if its too slow, it might not be a good HTPC card as well. Like the radeon 5450 in some cases.

48SPs are fine, given its clocks. The 9300GPU found on my Zotac board has only 16SPs and it runs 1080P movies fine albeit with limited shader/post processing effects.
