nVidia Refresh Rate Bug Fix??

Xponential

Their's a bug with the nVidia chipset that automatically bumps the refresh rate back to 60Hz in 2000 and XP. Their is a patch here that is supposed to fix the bug. However, when I download it and try to install it, it gives me this error message: "The program was unable to read your display adapter setup information. This can be result of using outdated drivers. Please update your display adapter drivers and try again."

Now I have a PNY GeForce3 Ti 500 video card, and have the 23.11 drivers installed, which are the latest ones released by nVidia about 2 weeks ago. So this error message doesn't make any since. I tried uninstalling my video driver and going back to the windows default driver and then installing the 23.11 driver, but it still gives me the same message.

So in conclusion, does anyone know of any other 3rd-party patches that fix this bug??

Hmm... working on my system. The only thing is I'm using 21.83, which worked better for me and allowed me to use 32bit z buffer in GR. 23.11 did not.

I'm using 21.83 and it detected my video card fine ... using the nvreffix

Maybe you could try another driver to see if that is the case.
