PS. "months before the 6800 really appears" - right, that's why some people have posted pics of their nice shiny new PNY 6800s and 6800 GT cards, right?

I'll concede that NV might possibly be having yield problems, or there may be supply constraints on obtaining the necessary quantities of the ultra-fast GDD3 memory needed to make the high-end card models, that would explain why they (6800 Ultra) don't seem to be available in vast quantities yet, but that doesn't in any way imply that they have been recalled either.

That's probably true but its funny nonetheless. We've had 7 cards announced this generation, 4 of which either haven't been released or are impossible to find. And out of the remaining 3, 2 of them are 12 pipeline parts lacking in speed.

Or else these chips simply have a high failure rate..which I seriously doubt... you don't sink hundreds of millions into fabs, marketing, and R&D to have a product that's unworkable.
