Why is this not discussed on anantech?? NVIDIA has recalled all 6800 ultra's. Does anyone know why?
Apparently Nvidia has told everyone to keep the lid on this one. Whats up with that? It could be months before the 6800 really appears if ever. This is a scam unlike no other seen before. I am going
to cancell my oorder ASAP. NVIDIA wont even discuss it. ANANTECH can you dig into this one? WHATS UP with this silence???

Im going to have to agree here. Posting such a topic, with no proof or link is bad form.

um, i really doubt it dude. if it were a recall, it wouldnt be from nvidia. it'd be from a card manufacturer like evga or sumthing. the gpu should be fine, since it's been tested a ton of times especially in benchmarks.

I just orgered a 3800+ 939 AMD 64 based system from cyberpowersystem.com. I had selected the
6800 ultra cause Im tired of waiting for the x800 xt pe. So I call up to find out why my order is delayed.
Sales dude says all 6800 ultra's have been recalled and wont show up for weeks. What??? He says he's not supposed to tell me that but I should perhaps select a different card. That sucks. Is this a lie. I can't tell but thats what this sales dude told me not 20 minutes ago. All I'm asking here is: Does anyone actually have one of these cards? Does anyone know whats up with the supposed recall??

sounds like they don't have any in stock and that is his excuse for putting it on the website as instock. pretty lame salesmen, i would stay away from them.

I have seen many people with these cards. Essepcially over at NVnews.net. You posted this in GH and Video because some stupid sales rep told you so??? That is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard.

Send an e-mail to Nvidia and explain what you were told and who told it to you.

That should fetch a response one way or the other.

I am betting that they just can't fill your order and are trying to cover up.

this thread can be disproved pretty simply, if "no one is to know" why would a store tell a customer? Go elsewhere, i've already got a complaint up agaisnt you in the forum issues anyway, if anyone would like to chime in, be my guest :)

Most likely it will be delayed further. I suspect vendors are all selling them before having them in stock, which means getting your hands on one will become a hunt. good luck.

There are a lot of sites advertising they have them in stock, when most won't.

You may change your thread title(s) now.

why did you make your post in the general hardware forum look like nvidia was hiding some huge scam than? I'm just suspicious because of how you seemed to re-word everything in this thread...
