I pulled this card out of a Dell system and it's has Quadro2 mxr on it, how does this compare to a Geforce 2 or about equal to?

Nice pull...its the equal to a geforce 2 MX but it has some extra features enabled that helps with 3d apps such as cad.

So far as I'm aware of the only board available based on the Quadro II MXR is the Elsa Synergy III so that's what I'm assuing your card is.
The Quadro IIMXR is the workstation variant of the nVidia Geforce2 MX, though is runs at the same core clockspeed as the GF2 MX400, and has faster 200MHz SDR SDRAM then any of the MX variants.
It's Elsa's low-end Quadro board, and hence lacks a few of the features of the hugh-end Quadro's like anti-aliased lines etc.

In gaming it will perform as basically a slightly overclocked GF2 MX card in most instances, though naturally it'll blow a typical MX away in the high end 3D apps it's designed for.

If your interested in the price it generally runs for about $230 used, and around $320-450 new.
