$500 is outrageous.

No, its criminal. When they get reasonable pricing again, tied to reasonable performance expectations, not hyped up BS, then I will buy and install vidcards again. For now, I build with Asus all-in- one and that does fine for most people.

Bullsh!t.

Anybody who plays actual games would die if they had to use a built in chip. The Absolute minimum these days would have to be a radeon 9000.

You would be abosolutely amazed at how few people put "playing games" as the priority for buying a computer. If you want to play games, then fine, pay more for the vidcard than what the rest of the entire system costs. Yea, that makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?

Sheesh

Bullsh!t back at ya. I play any game I want at good framerates with my GeForce 3 Ti200, which should be slower than a Radeon 9000.

Do you have any clue how much it costs to develop a performing graphic card these days? I'm sure they could get new cards back to the $100 mark all we need to do is stop developing technology at the rate of pace we do today and slow everything to a crawl speed.

You want budget go buy a last generation graphics card. You want a POJ go buy a 3dfx card.

What games are you playing now require a $500 gaming card? When the games catch up to the cards then I might buy one.

I really don't believe their problems with Microsoft contributed that greatly to their decline.

They can blame the FX (or lack there of so far) as their major problem.

ATI has owned them lately.

You are a little unhinged man, maybe if you need to play Unreal 2 at 1024X768, but a 32meg geforce can get you by on games, I dunno about this radeon 9000 business... (BTW I have a gf4 ti-4200 128 meg, recently upgraded from gf2 ultra 64 meg which play BF1942 fine)

Ive been spoiled by my Sapphire 9500>9700 PRO mod, I play all my games at 1028x768,32bit,16xFSAA,8XAA,max settings smooth as silk. Gaming on my P4 2.4GHZ with a Radeon 8500LE doesnt cut it anymore for me, the graphics are just plain ugly to me now!:) (must have FSAA/AA max! ;))

the Ti200 should be about the same (if not faster) than a 9000. And I believe me, I am not BSing. I have the original Radeon (same as a gf2) and I can't play any new games until I get the money for a better card.
