ty, mr postman.

btw its a shame how long it takes for new mobile gpu´s until u can actually buy them in notebooks. Where are the X1600XT mobilities presented by the stINQ in late 2005...all i see is crappy x700, thats not enough power if u want a_portable_gamin machine.

unfortunately for us, the manufacturers seem to think that there isn't much demand for small sized notebooks with decent graphics. there is definitely the all-out game DTR 7800gt portable computer (you can't call something 17" and 8+ lbs a notebook), but other than that discrete solutions are a giant step down. x700 seems the best there is, and it only barely keeps up with desktop graphics from 2002 (radeon 9700 pro ftw!).

is it possible that the power requirements are that high?

I have to agree there's a sad lack of options for a mid range gaming laptop. You seem to have integrated video which might be able to upgrade to something like an x300 for a non integrated video. Then you've got the full blown rediculous gaming laptops with a 7800gtx that you might as well leave the battery off of cause it's gonna get about 5 minutes of run time.
