Nice.

Just wish that there were performance increases in Crysis. Of all the games that could use an extra 10-20%, we never seem to see any improvement.

QFT.

Drives me nuts that NV doesn't pool their resources on that game.

Maybe they are waiting for Crysis Warhead then going to pour resources into that.

I sure hope you're right, Elcs.

That's some pretty awesome single GPU improvements. If Crysis was well written we would see improvements, but I guess they are waiting for Warhead for Crytek to get their **** together and make a properly coded game.

How did you come to that conclusion?

wtd does nvidia do stupid release notes like that. Posting increases without actually saying what settings the increase is at. Its dumb, its like a reviewer saying "take me word on it, its a fast card" without actually telling you the settings of the card.

Here I will do the REAL release notes for them.
* Single GPU increases up to 11% in 3DMark Vantage (performance preset)..at 800x600
* Single GPU increases up to 11% in Assassin's Creed DX10 ...on 14inch monitor
* Single GPU increases up to 15% in Bioshock DX10 ...with everything disabled
* Single GPU increases up to 15% in Call of Duty 4 ...with missing textures it makes it easy folks!
* Single GPU increases up to 8% in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars...games people hardly play make it worth the download!
* 2-way SLI increases up to 7% in Bioshock DX10 ....I spend hundreds of extra dollars on a SLI setup to play bioshock! Retarded people rejoice!
* 2-way SLI increases up to 10% in Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts DX10....well that is great, because we needed that %10 increase on a SLI Setup. /sarcasm
* 2-way SLI increases up to 12% in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars ... People don't buy sli setups to play quake wars. Well the same who bought it for bioshock do naturally.
* 2-way SLI increases up to 10% in World in Conflict DX10" ...%10 for hundreds of dollars you suckas got! Go nvidia! At this rate you will get your money worth in a about the time a new gen card comes out that negates the performance fo your sli setup.

Sorry, someone had to call out Nvidia for such BS numbers. at the way the show them. :D

LOL headcase. Your "REAL" numbers here are just as made up as you claim Nvidia's are. Nothing like trying them out first and THEN post your findings eh? I'm sure we will hear from people who try them out, whether they boost performance or not. Hang in there, it's not that bad. ;)

Yah I know, But you know the least they could do is post the system they achieved the results on is all im saying. :) With so much driver releases it gets tiresome for everyone to just expect a increase because the notes say so. hehe

Have a look in this thread for my explanation- it's not rocket science that Cryengine cannot make use of it's resources properly.

this new beta also boasts GPU physX for G80 cards... can anyone with a G80 confirm that?

G80 PhysX has been supported since 177.83's AFAIK. And I think even the 177.79's with a inf edit. (Don't quote me, been through so many configs my head spins). I had a few different test setups checking this out.

177.83's
9800GTX+ or GTX280 rendering
8800GTS 640 running PhysX
or
2x8800GTS 640's SLI rendering and running PhysX.
So G80 PhysX support is not new with this driver.

Oblivion runs like ass with these.

Off topic: Damn EA -- I ran out of activations for Mass Effect. Guess that means I better buy Spore too...

anyone else throwing errors with atitool 0.26 on scan for artifacts?

175 is fine up to 600/1450/1000, 177 bombs out at even stock settings.

I'm not too sure they are worried about crysis. They are pooling their resources for games that people actually play.

I play Crysis. It's a pretty damned fun game, especially on the hardest level.

I always stop playing the minute the alien crap starts, though.

Besides, it's in Crytek's/NV's best interest to work on that engine, considering it is the current bench game for video cards.

Better FRs = more sales...

Cheers.

"people actually play" = lots of people actually play.
Sure you play it, but you are the exception to the rule.

Nice vids, the stuttering is clearly obvious, but what kind of frame rates are you getting there? I wasn't able to replicate the stuttering in CoH on my GTX 280 but my FPS are much higher.

Just follow the instructions about re-activating. I think you call them or something.
