So I got an nVidia newsletter thingie on an old e-mail address and it mentioned a contest where you can win a 6800GT, Doom 3, etc etc. So I visit the page and read the rules for the contest, here is an interesting section:

6. FOR CANADIAN RESIDENTS: If a Canadian resident is drawn as a winner, that person must answer correctly within a specified time a 4-function mathematical skill-testing question without the benefit of any mechanical calculating devices. The test will be administered at a prearranged, mutually convenient time or by email (as solely determined by Sponsor), before the prize will be awarded; and if the question is not correctly answered, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.

WTF?? Anyone have any idea what this is about?

Hmmm............ATI is in Canada..............coincidence?

Looks like you'd fail the test.

As others have said it is required by law, & it's a stupidly simple test.

The Google is weak in this one.

Type in "canadian contest law skill test" then hang your head in shame.
