I am building a custom case that is rather, uh, restrictive on size, but I would also like it to pack a little bit of punch.

I was wondering if there were any nForce2 FlexATX boards, out there, or if anybody could recommend some good FlexATX boards.

My current selection of MB is a Biostar M7NGC-400 (MicroATX). If I could get most of those features in a smaller board, I would be a happy camper.

I've got a similar project in mind (for a LAN box), but have had no luck finding a flex ATX board in the NF-2 flavor.
I've done quite a bit of searching and no luck at all. I figure they just aren't popular enough for the makers to go that route?

Not only will you not find an nF2 Flex-ATX board, you won't find an nF1 Flex-ATX. You're pretty limited.

There are VIA KM400-based ones, so you'd just need a low-profile AGP card - the 9600SE comes in that size.

Yeah, I've decided to go MicroATX (it's fairly small... 24cm x 24cm, or something like that...).

I wanted nForce2 because of the integrated nVidia video, and pretty good integrated sound. I'm trying to make a very CHEAP linux LAN box that I can tote around.

Here's the mobo I settled on... ream it out and flame it, please.

I believe it was the one used in the anandtech MicroATX case shootout... but don't quote me on that one.

Also - it has a CNR slot (for a riser, right?), so I can put all SORTS of goodies in there!

CNR is for modem or something, not for riser. That Biostar board is a decent value. Cheap and some revisions support various overclocking goodies. There have been complaints of failed boards, so quality may be an issue. FWIW I had a revision 1.0 board with overclocking features. Worked quite well, though it couldn't hit 200MHz FSB stable without a voltage boost (the Nforce2 IGP doesn't officially support that speed).
