I recently downloaded a PDF file from Nvidia about their NForce chipset. Within the document they compare their chipset to the intel i815 chipset. Is that really comparing apple to apples. In their document they also compare RDRAM PC800's bandwidth 1.6GB/s to their theoretical bandwidth 4.2GB/s. They fail to mention that RDRAM PC800 when used in pairs brings that 1.6GB/s to 3.2GB/s EXACTLY what they are doing with DDR SDRAM modules to acheive their posted bandwidth of 4.2GB/s. Is nvidia thinking that we don't know when the p3 815 chipset came out? Why was an 850 chipset not set up for comparison? Is this due to their marketing team knowing that the stats would be too close to display a decisive difference or is their legit reason for their benchmarking the products as they did other than try to (as I see it) pull off a ploy to not so knowledgable computer users.
