Hey all, I don't know how many of you are itching to know who's going to take the crown for 3d performance when the N30 is officially released, but I thought this site I stumbled on would make many of you happy. They actually tested out the N30 against the R300. It's a nail biter...looks pretty close....probably settle for the n30 when it drops in price considering nvidia has very stable drivers.... but then...the 9700 pro is here NOW...so which shall it be. 😉....doesn't seem to matter really other than if you're concerned with drivers possibly. Sweet. Makes me like my 9500np/soft9700 (stable and flawless 300/300) even more.
Though to be fair the tests were run 1600x1200. Upcoming reviews over various res will be just as interesting.
 
I'm sorry for nvidia, but I don't think I need a freakin' hairdryer/video card combo in my case to add more head, draw more power, and take up an extra slot. It's bad enough that the card produces so much heat and (thus) noise, but it does so and still barely outperforms a 'normal' card that does't produce that much heat and noise and doesn't eat up an extra slot. And the card costs more than the 9700 Pro. No way, that card's DOA.
 
Maybe if you scrolled down a little on the page, you would have already seen the 100+ THREAD ABOUT THE FX!

This has nothing to do with the NV30 or anything video card related...I just had to post to say I am a bit disturbed by the info posted in the above sig (LOL)...time to stop swimming in the ocean for me 🙁
