Make no mistake...IBM has incredible semiconductor manufacturing power...

I don't know what the current stats are but about 3-4 years ago I saw a document where IBM was still ranked as having the largest semiconductor manufacturing capability of any single entity...No doubt they have given a piece of that title to Intel and maybe they even have been passed by someone else as well but IBM, as we all know, is huge.

It would be good business for both parties no doubt...IBM, despite their recent layoffs, has always been a well run outfit.

I remember reading somewhere(Ace's or RWT me thinks) that IBM's semiconductor manufacturing is second only to Intel's when it comes to R&D and quality.

Would be a good move by Nvidia. If TSMC cant get their act together, find someone who can and stop delaying NV30.

It certainly isnt going to benefit nVidia this generation. It would delay release significantly if they were forced to switch all or even part of the production over to IBM's fabs.

I agree with Rand........ it would take some time to port over to another FAB. What would be even more interesting is if ATI uses IBM for the R350 part (the one that's supposed to be 0.13).

If would cost them money also. Since VT is out of the ball game, that's even more money taken away from nvidia. I don't see them moving over to IBM.

If they ever do, I don't see this happening until next year, or nvidia's next line of GPU's.
