Nvidia<-> Linux Compatibitly

Hi,
I am planning to upgrade my CPU. So I have decided to buy an nvidia 9300 chipset motherboard and install Linux ( Redhat, Suse). Please let me know whether proper drivers for Linux will be available ?
Also pls suggest which among C2D E8400 and C2Q Q6600 is better ?

nVIDIA drivers for linux are available. It should support the onboard video.

As for the processor, what do you plan to do with this linux box?
 
I basically want to install linux and do some R & D on Oracle Apps on it. If linux installation has some prob i can manage with vmware, so thats why i wan2 know which among those 2 is better ?

Also pls suggest some good motherboards below $200 .. with Intel chipset.
