NVidia Inspector Global FPS limit

Probably a dumb question but I like to ask everything that comes to mind.

For the most part, I never want my games to go above or below 60FPS. Just wanted to know if setting 60FPS frame limit in NVIDIA Inspector for the global driver base profile is a good idea or not. I always force VSync on as a global setting, and I've heard things about the two not always working well together? Is everything fine and dandy with having both on as global defaults? Thanks.

I wouldn't set it in the global profile. In fact I'm not sure I would set anything in the global profile for that matter.

It'll only be useful if you're setting it to 58fps in your case (2 below the refresh rate) which can reduce input lag (I think it even says that in Nvidia Inspector). The built in fps limiter in the nvidia drivers isn't very good and doesn't really smooth out frame timings so you're left with something which doesn't look very smooth.

RTSS[1] on the other hand does try and keep frame timings consistent so if you're looking to limit fps without vsync you're likely much better off using RTSS. Not sure if anything has changed recently.

[1] [/QUOTE] Actually, setting it to...se any duplicate frames. 59 is in the middle.
