Nvidia hardware physx disabled

I am having trouble getting NVidia Physx to run on my GTX260. The control panel lets me enable physx, but when I try and run the demo software it says it is running in software mode (and is very slow), same with the warmonger demo from the nvidia site, it runs painfully slowly. This has been the same with whatever version of the drivers were already installed, and the latest drivers from the website (physx 8.10.13). I am running hybrid power with an 8200 onboard chipset. Does anyone know how to get hardware physx working? or if there are known issues with running physx and hybrid power?

Have you tried disabling hybrid power? See if that's the cause. I did a quick search and came up with no results but it's worth trying.

Yep that fixed it...which is annoying (or would be more annoying if there was anything physx enabled i actually wanted to play at the moment). Hopefully it will be fixed in a driver update before its really needed. Has anyone else been able to get physx working with hybrid power?
