well... they are entering the chipset market now.. and they are right now domnating the graphic sector already... once they enter the chipset market (Intergret).... VIA, ALi and others will be knocked off, since the value is about the same but the peformance is another big story... and......
after that.. you guys shall be able to guess what will happen next that... eh....

well... I didn't mean they will enter the CPU market.. but what I meant was the way they will be doing business with consumers, and the PRICE....

There is NO way nVidia will displace VIA or ALI. These companies have too many ties (direct and indirect) to other major players. Do some company research and you'll see what I mean. 😉

yeah 99% of motherboard companies are in taiwan. There are too many family connections and interdependancies that would make it never take off. Thats how it works in taiwan. IE FIC is owned by formosa plastics owners of VIA. Why do you think the sd11 has a via southbridge

hans007, that's exactly what I was referring to!

I imagine if nVidia made a move against one of those companies they (nVidia) might then be dropped by TSMC ...

yea but tsmc could start charging them A LOT more once their contract runs out, and nvidia would be very very helpless, as moving to another fab would cause a lot of problems. Or less space allocated to nvidia, etc.

I doubt a corp as big as TSMC would be that childish.
Companies wanna make money, if they make money by bullying nVidia they will, but as long as they make money by supplying nVidia with chips in the fashion they do now, they wont change that.
