$50 bucks off with the 10% coupon code (expires 11/12) puts these at less than I paid for my gtx480's a couple months post launch...

Not HOT, but a damn good deal none-the-less

They're all almost 600 bucks! Jeez, am I the only broke one here? I thought the economy was bad?! I paid 60$ AR (Frys deal) for my Geforce 250 and it is very fast for everything I play. 10% the price!

I think I'll wait for AMD's 6880 and 6890 -- I bet after that releases it'll drop like a rock.

I thought the MSRP was supposed to be $500?

The "S" in MSRP stand for suggested... lol. Newegg cares not for what manufacturers recommend! It's basically the fastest card on the planet ATM, they can price gouge all they want.

If you factor in the 10% off coupon, they're only bumping the price up by $10. Kind of surprising really -- maybe this is an actual hard launch.

So apparently 10% above MSRP is considered a "hot deal" these days?

A hot deal is whatever the lowest price is for that item at the time it was posted.
Forget the fact that a newly released videocard will be expensive by most members standards. The lowest price is the lowest price and there are still many ATers that will purchase at that price.

If you can find a better price post it, if not please lay off the threadcrapping

Actually being anywhere close to MSRP at launch IS pretty hot for Newegg these days! :D

With the 10% coupon, it's a heck of a card for an OK price. I doubt you will find them much cheaper anywhere else.

The 5970 is still faster in most benchmarks, although that card is hard to come by.

Ehhhh... while that may be a true statement, I had a 4870x2 and while that card was solid as a rock, the performance was fairly hit and miss. My own personal preference is a single, powerful GPU over any multi gpu setup, be that seperate cards or one card w/ 2gpu's. To me, the 580 is Fermi done right... I am trying hard to justify another $500+ GPU purchase, but man, that is a lot of dough.

Just to put it in perspective, I paid $629 for my 4870x2 back in 2008, lol...

There is some unspoken amount of time where a product has to be out before the 'hot deal' price can be established. Like, enough time to let other retailers get their hand on these cards amount of time.

I'm going to go against the man here and say this is NOT a hot deal. Unless your a HEAVY enthusiast, jacking prices up by 9% and giving a 10% discount does not make this in any way a hot deal. I'll wait the two days.

Thanks anyways though! :D

If you're in Calif. just create an account on the CompUSA website and get TD prices without the TAX = $50 savings

Damn... if I didn't blow $120 of my paycheck on two subpar FPS (COD: Black ops & MOH: Tier 1) and a recent $90 TB HDD I could picked up one of these puppies... oh well GTX 470 SC FTW!!
