Nvidia gts450 benchmarks leaked

the've been getting cheaper. 6 mnths ago hd5770 was running $185ish they are down to $135 ish and when the 6xxx stuff luanchs including the new 6770 cards then you will see a pretty sizeable drop.

This 450 card is targeted at System builders as a cheap machine stuffer part.
 
I easily maxed out my xFx 5750 clocks to the full limit the ati control panel would allow. Core @870mhz and 1GB DDR5 ram @1430mhz (5720 Mhz DDR5).

I have yet to try another utility to raise the clocks higher. The 5750 with typical oc provides more than enough performance for the games I play. I like better that it accelerates Adobe Flash and some regular video playback as well. I can encode video's maxing out all 4 cores of my Q9450 cpu, program in vb.net, and watch high def all at the same time with no hicups in the least. So my demands are different than most people who may want absolute gaming performance. But for those who don't demand the max possible performance just might be happy with the 5750, and thus the performance of the new nVideo card that competes with it. I guess power consumption, features, and price will determine which card is bought.

Outside of games where Nvidia cards work better than ATI cards, the only real advantage this has over the 5770 is tessellation performance. But, with the 6xxx series coming soon, this is a very uninteresting card...

Thats not true at all. ATI does not support all the features nvidia does with regard to physx. But to see nvidia cards game significantly better overall. Thats fud and you know it.

they both make good parts the issue at hand is that the gtx450 really has no market position aside form system builders as far as I can tell.

Well it will certainly eat further into AMD's bottom line. If it costs less than a 5770 then it will potentially kill the market not only for that card but for the 5750.

That's unlikely, specially when the low end HD 6x00 series are around the corner and can match or outperform easily the GTS 450.

Na, I can bench mine @ 915 core, 1365 memory with no extra voltage.🙂
The card dosen't allow for voltage adjustments.🙁
I got real lucky though,especially for 85$ :thumbsup:, most 5750's I've seen don't go this high, mabe 850 core.
 
Let others fool themselves into believing this is another GTX460. The rest of us can wait for more reviews and make up our mind later on when the cards are released.

You need some help? Just edit the Msi Afterburner config file and overclock away. The sky is the limit. no restrictions, I can set mine to 1000 core if I wanted.

With the proper voltage adjustments, I'd go for 1000 core all day.🙂

Ahh ,please stop trolling,In my original post it says performance between a 5750 and 5770.

The overclocked Asus comment was directed to someone who said the overclocked version in the review barley beat a 5770, which is completly false. Just a correction.

1430 memory? I would make sure your not actaully losing performance from that memory clock.

I can clock my memory higher also, but these 5000 series cards use memory correction and ususally won't artifact, but instead you will see a performance drop.

If the GTS 450 enters around $130-140, at least in my eyes I know which I'd prefer.

Heck I'd guess even the 65xx series would out perform the GTS 450. This card just seems too late and pointless at this now.

The likely scenario (when considering current hearsay rumor and speculation) is a 6700 level card that offers more performance and is more expensive for the 6000 series than the 5700s are for the 5000 series.

It would make sense too. AMD is stuck with having to use the 40nm process, and if they're looking to replace upper end of the 5000 series entirely they could do so by offering 6700s that perform on par (or at least very close to) the 5800s.

This way they could fill that coveted $200-300 gap with an appropriately performing 6700 part, while the 6800s would fill even higher price niches than the current 5800s.

But again, this is all based on the current rumors and speculation.

I think my post was pretty clear that I was talking about specific games that run faster on Nvidia cards. Far Cry 2 is generally a good example of this type of game. Some games run faster on ATI cards, so it's really a moot point if you're looking at everything.

Please, don't loose faith on your favorite company, faith = nonthinking. If an HD 6770 has a 256-Bit BUS, and its bigger brother can outperform easily the GTX 480, what makes you think that the HD 6770 can't outperform the GTS 450, something that the HD 5770 does nicely? The GTS 450 is a nice match for the low end HD 6x00 series like the HD 65xx and HD 66xx series.

Completely false? The only game in that benchmark the OC 450 soundly beat the reference 5770 was in FC2. The OC 450 lost every Crysis benchmark and was no more faster than 6fps in the CoJ benchmarks and 4fps in the WiC benchmarks.

Hardly some decisive victory from a small sample of 3 games with a 18% overclocked brand new card coming out versus a year old reference clocked product. It barely beat it period.

If the 6770 is going to have a 256bit bus what makes you think its going to be priced anywhere near the GTS450 or even its predecessor 5770?

AMD still has a $200-300 niche to fill (5850 has been too expensive and the 5830 too impotent) and thus a 6700 series w/ 256bit bus seems likely poised to take over for the 5830/5850 in that price/performance range.

More than half of the HD 5850 SKU's are between the $200.00 and $300.00 price mark, and the HD 5830 issue isn't only its impotence, its the fact that previous generations of nVidia/AMD hardware performed very well. I do expect that the HD 6770 price launch will be $199 unfortunately...

Also your point doesn't make much sense, because if AMD prices the HD 6770 around $200-$300, how much do you expect AMD will charge for an HD 6850/HD 6870.
