Nvidia GT430 power usage is the same as what 7xx series GPU?

I am looking for a low profile GPU upgrade for an HP that has a 240W power supply. Pretty meager, but only a low to low mid range GPU is required.

I put in an old GT430 that I had, and it works just fine in games with the 240W power supply. Can anyone tell me which 7xx GPU uses roughly the same wattage as the GT430?

The GeForce GT 740 is the fastest single slot low profile card that doesn't need a PEG connector. I'm using this card in a Dell Optiplex 380 with a 235w PSU Xeon E5450 and performance is around that of an Xbox One.

There are a few low profile GeForce GTX 750s/750 Tis that take about 1.5 or 2 slots as well.

GT730 with GDDR5 is faster than the GT430 and only needs 25W and is available as a LP single slot card.

Thanks for the replies so far, I really appreciate it.

I haven't ran an AMD GPU since they were called ATI, but how does the performance of the R7 250 compare to the GT730 and GT740? Their are low profile R7 250's that don't require external power and are comparable in price.

R7-250 DDR5 AND GT740 DDR5 are about a tie, with the GT730 DDR5 a little slower.

All cards are available in DDR3 versions, which are much slower.

Here you go :

Looks like the 740 OC (overclocked out of the box) is faster by a decent bit, but on a non OC one its probably a toss up. But since you already have an Nv card and in the absence of a reason to switch, you should probably stick with the same company to avoid driver conflict issues, unless you just want to try something different.

MSI makes a low profile 750ti (N750TI-2GD5TLP) that does not require external power and many have reported it working just fine in SFF HP's and Dell's with power supplies in the 235-250W range. It is pricey for a 750ti at $149.99 @ newegg and Amazon.

Thanks again for all the replies so far.

Keep in mind those 750s and 750 Tis will not fit in SFF boxes that have clearance for one slot. It's the reason I went with my 740 because it literally only takes one slot, not 1.5 or 2.

If you look around or wait you can get a good deal on the 740, I got mine for $66 after $20 rebate.
