instead of "she's a doozy," think about putting "BSN link" in the subtitle.

you've got a conjunctive state of being verb there and it just doesn't make sense because GT300 can hardly be said to be in any existential state.

sigh, OP below. prepare for BSN!!

That sounds more credible than anything Charlie has ever wrote, but I just want benchmarks at this point.

1.5GB memory standard? Sweet!

i would love to see proof of their 2:1 single:double precision FP performance claim. on GT200 that ratio wasn't even 10:1.

i love how he says "you can read it for yourself" as if writing x on the internet gives x any amount of credibility.

C++? please shut up. i would let nvidia announce something like that before what's left of your reputation is tossed in the landfill.

This isn't just BSN. Nvidia showed off the card today at GTC. Ya know, that big event of theirs that used to be called NVISION.

put that in the OP then dude. most people are tired of unsubstantiated and overly dramatic op-ed style of BSN. not that fudzilla is much better.

Well I can't now, apparently you've somehow taken control of the topic, so only you can edit the title lol.

The 512 core rumor has been floating around for a while now, but 6GB of memory is pretty crazy. Probably overkill, but amazing none the less. I'd like for my video card alone to cash out a 32bit OS, and then some. :D

Is this some new rule? Relax. People will realize where it is from when the click the link.

This sounds like pretty solid info from multiple sources.

I dont think that is for the normal retail cards. :p

Why not? So we can use 96X AA.

6GB is for the pro (Tesla, Quadro) cards I believe...3GB would probably be the max we see for consumer cards.

This card sound very interesting...I wonder if you could FULLY run programs that usually run on the CPU.

BSN is Inq refugee Theo Valich. Charlie fled the Inq to create SemiAccurate. Faud moved on to some other site.

Either way if the specs are true and they fully implement MIMD, this card will be twice as fast as a GTX285 and 20-40% faster than a GTX295. Around 30-50% faster than a 5870. Maybe even more depending on drivers/games.

Well, GDDR5 has double the bandwidth anyway. So higher clocks on the memory (relatively) together with smaller bus width will probably end up with almost double available bandwidth anyway.

Let's see benchmarks. Cause they can boast about what makes their cards great as much as they want. As long as we don't get measurable performance numbers, that's not very relevant.

Yeah it's harder to guess what performance will be with this new architecture...unlike 5870 where we could sort of guess it would be 2x4870/4890.

If GF100 is as strong as expected:
6GB GDDR5 might not be enough for Tesla-model and it's scientific calculations. Games just can't utilize full potential of GPUs.

Some single-G200 quadros already have 4GB vram for a reason ;).

Theo, Charlie, and Faud all together on one site, oh the stories they must have come up with...

Unless I missed it, I didn't see a core clock speed. Going by the specs, I see more of the same from this round, unless those shiney new shaders really add that much performance. I guess we will have to wait for it to be released...

Shader count + DDR5 + MIMD = ????

That is the big question. GIVE US SOMETHING nV. Give us a 10 year old 3dmark score, I dont care.

I might be bat-**** crazy, but isn't Windows 7 supposed to resolve the issue where main memory is used to mirror the VRAM in the GPU? I know I read somewhere about this, and how Win7 will allow windows to directly access the VRAM in the GPU without going through main memory.

Anyone know more about this?

Drivers may not be finalized yet. It may be a couple of weeks.

Wow, it sounds like Nvidia is literally aiming to kill Larabee before it ever enters production. No doubt they'll retake the single gpu performance crown back from ATI, but I also have no doubt these cards will be expensive. I imagine we'll be seeing leaked benchmarks before the end of october.
